About the Journal

The Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology (JTIT) is a peer-reviewed, open access quarterly published since 2000 by the National Institute of Telecommunications – State Research Institute in Warsaw, Poland. It publishes original research on telecommunications and information technology, with a focus on experimental results that advance scientific and technological knowledge.

Aims and scope

JTIT welcomes papers from all areas of wired and wireless telecommunications, including, but not limited to:

•       modulation and signal design, coding and communication theory; 

•       wireless, optical and photonic communications;  

•       transmission systems, systems and network architecture, communication system components;

•       network management, protocols, software and middleware, quality of service; 

•       network and information security; 

•       image and signal processing, voice communications devices; 

•       information technology related to the above areas.

Papers should have the potential to advance the technological base of telecommunications and information technology.

Types of contributions

•       Research articles – original research, subject to double-blind peer review.

•       Review and tutorial papers – published by invitation only and peer-reviewed.

•       White Papers – technical analyses and position papers; not externally peer-reviewed.

•       Editorials – editorials and prefaces to issues; not externally peer-reviewed.

Publication model

JTIT publishes four issues a year. Accepted articles are first made available online as Early Access articles and are subsequently assigned to a regular issue. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license, and there are no submission or article processing charges.

JTIT is indexed and abstracted in: Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), INSPEC, EBSCO, ProQuest, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, BazTech, Index Copernicus and Google Scholar (see Archiving and indexing).

The publication of JTIT is financed by the National Institute of Telecommunications. The Journal has also received financial support from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (see Sponsors).
